8月17日～19日ベラルーシのミンスクで行われた新体操ワールドカップで卒業生の松原梨恵選手とアジア学部3年生の横田葵子選手が団体種目別ボールロープで金メダルを獲得しました。
また個人では皆川夏穂選手が種目別ボールで8位を獲得しました。

平成30年8月16日～19日、群馬県高崎アリーナにて表記の大会が開催され、個人総合と種目別フープとクラブで古井里奈選手（体育3）が優勝。
団体は3位の成績をおさめました。
4年生の藤田選手と飴嶋選手はミスがあり、残念ながら全日本出場権は逃してしまいましたが、心に残る素晴らしい演技を披露してくれました。
10月に行われる全日本新体操選手権大会には古井里奈選手、立澤孝菜選手（アジア2）、団体（栗原、徳田、権藤、伊藤、川久保、奥田）が出場します。
ご協力頂いているアルプロン製薬様はじめ、沢山の皆様に感謝し、次の全日本では更なる飛躍を致します。

※立澤選手は怪我のため、全日本新体操選手権には協会推薦で出場致します。

Today is the final day of the Festival del Sole. We are going to perform in the closing ceremony from 23:30 and our performance is the very last one of the day. We had great success and felt really good last time we were the closing act, so we will try our best to make every movement count and experience the same feeling this time. We couldn’t use the stage for our rehearsal since it was occupied for preparations for the closing ceremony, but we could use the gym to check everything in our performance in the morning. We are looking forward to showing a strong finale in our last performance.
When the show started at 21:00, there were already countless people in the audience. Many people were looking forward to watching our performance. As soon as we started our warm-up, a huge crowd formed in front of us. Even in such circumstances, the students were totally focused on what they should do to prepare while waiting to go on stage.
Finally, our turn came.
It was already close to midnight at 23:30, but the audience‘s excitement exploded when we appeared on stage and we were welcomed with a roar of applause.
The music started and our last performance then followed. We succeeded in all the points that needed correction in our previous performances up until Day 5 and could show what we wanted to show smoothly to the audience. As our performance went on, we gradually became one with the audience．Towards the end of the performance, all of us showed amazing concentration and succeeded in creating a wonderful stage performance.
When we posed at the end, all our members as well as all the audience and staff were filled with a great feeling of accomplishment. I was sure that it was the best performance we did in Italy!
When our performance ended, the Festival Del Sole also came to an end. This great show finally came to a close.
Following the success we had at the last Festival del Sole in 2016, we achieved great success again this time. We are all grateful to the Italian people for giving us such a wonderful experience. It is important to make good use of this experience for the upcoming Inter-college competition in August. The day after tomorrow, we will go back to Japan and continue to work hard towards our next performance together as a team. Thank you again for all your support and assistance!
Today, I’m going to provide updates for days four and five.
[4th of July]
The venue for today was Arena Sud, which was close enough for us to walk to from our hotel. We rehearsed at the venue in the morning, and then practiced at a gym. My gymnasts were now used to this routine and our practice went smoothly.
Since we had free time until our performance at night, we went to the shopping mall at the neighboring town of Rimini. We enjoyed shopping as tourists, buying things that cannot be found in Japan.
Our performance started after 21:00 today. The venue was filled to overflowing with spectators. We heard a lot of compliments and expectations.
When we appeared on stage, thunderous applause filled the arena. Music started as if it was blended into the color of the night sky above Ricione. The accompaniment music used for our team routine is “Cherry Blossoms in Winter”. As its peaceful melody filled the venue, wild applause disappeared and only the gymnasts’ breathing could be heard. Our team routine, which had been revised to make it 1:40 (shorter than the 3 minutes for competitions), ended in a flash. My gymnasts delivered a perfect performance including the balancing pose, handstands, tumbling, and other synchronized movements before moving on to the next jump-rope performance.
The music used for the jump-rope routine was “Nihon-no-Mikata (Friends of Japan)” and “Heaven at School”. The upbeat music made the audience get in the groove. We made this performance more competition-like, paying careful attention to getting the rhythm exactly right. There was a moment when the gymnasts almost failed to keep the rhythm, but they successfully got back to the original rhythm, averting a big mistake. The final group performance was also a big success with a feeling of strong unity with the audience. When we struck a pose at the end of our performance, the audience went crazy and gave us a standing ovation. Overall, our performance for the day went quite successfully.
[5th of July]
Today is the last day we’ll show our group performance. We will have done it at different places for four days. The last venue is Arena Alba, which is located within a five-minute-walk from the first venue. We could feel the audience most closely here of all the venues.
In the morning, we rehearsed for the evening performance then went to the Arena Roma, the venue for the closing ceremony for the last day. We rehearsed our performance there, too. The Arena Roma is the main venue for this year’s Festival Del Sole. Although it is a bit smaller than the other venues, it has a stage, and the place will be filled with more than 10,000 people on the last day. We are supposed to appear as the final performance group like we did last time. We are so proud of being treated like that, and at the same time, couldn’t help thinking about the efforts and contributions made by staff or other performers for this festival. We’d like to show our respect and gratitude to everyone involved through our performance.
Today, we were supposed to give a workshop before our performance at night. We wanted to show how to use apparatus for individual routines to participants, but unfortunately it was cancelled due to rainy weather. Different from the previous visit to Riccione two years ago, we have sometimes had unstable weather this time. I heard that some other workshops had been cancelled the previous day. Although our workshop was cancelled too, we had fun taking pictures with the participants who came to the venue for our workshop.
Our performance tonight was to start at 22:15, the latest performance we’ve ever given. Actually, there was a possibility of cancellation of the show due to rain and strong wind, but it started anyway. However, it got ahead of schedule by 30 minutes, and our turn would be 30 minutes earlier. But we encountered a situation which would never ever happen in Japan. When there were only two teams to go before us, we were asked, “You were supposed to start at 22:15, and some people come here to see Kokushikan. So, is it OK for you to wait until 22:15, and let other teams perform before you?” I leaned that things which wouldn’t happen in Japan happen here, and although I felt sorry for other teams, I said OK. The teams which were supposed to perform after us kindly agreed with the plan, and we gave our performance as scheduled.
In front of the overcrowded audience, we showed our performance, which I thought had more sense of unity. Some people even had tears in their eyes. It came as a fresh reminder that men’s RG has a great power to move people. Tomorrow is our last day at Festival del Sole. We’ll do our very best as the final performer of this festival.
２０１８年８月１６日～１９日に群馬県高崎市高崎アリーナにて開催されました「第７０回全日本学生新体操選手権大会」が無事に終了しました。
結果としては個人総合では福永将司（体育４年）が初日に首位に立ち、その後一度も譲ることなく見事にが嬉しい初優勝を勝ち取りました！更に女子でも古井里奈（体育３年）が個人総合で優勝しインカレ史上初の男女アベック優勝を勝ち取りました！

団体は今年は２チーム参加しＡチームは予選に大きなミスがありましたが首位で折り返し決勝を迎えました。決勝では持てる力をしっかりと発揮し見事にノーミスで演じ切りましたが逆転を許し昨年に続き悔しい２位でした。Ｂチームは予選でもよい演技をしましたが決勝では素晴らしい底力を発揮し見事４位を獲得しました。全日本ではこの経験を活かし優勝目指して頑張ります。

2018年8月11日～12日に静岡県「このはなアリーナ」にて開催されました全国高校総体2018の個人総合、種目別スティック、クラブで向山蒼斗（高3）が見事初優勝を勝ち取りました！
毎日大学生たちと一緒に練習をし監督の大舌先生、コーチの斉藤先生の指導の下努力をした成果が報われました。本当におめでとう！！
9月のクラブ選手権、10月の全日本に向けて更に頑張って下さい！！

Today, we are going to give our second performance at the “Arena Giardini”, which is a bit smaller than yesterday’s venue.
To prepare, we did warm-up exercises at a gym, then at 11:30 we moved to the venue and practiced our routines. But we encountered an unexpected situation: it has been gloriously sunny in Riccione for the past few days, and today too, glaring sun was beating down on the venue. That made the surface of our outdoor stage extremely hot, mercilessly burning the feet of the gymnasts performing without shoes. They had trouble focusing on their performance because of the burning mattress. However, we somehow managed to confirm our routines for the night, and finished our practice. Unexpected things keep happening while we are on expeditions, but it is one of many things we enjoy.

Also, we held a workshop on this day. At the “Festival Village” a short distance away from the venue, we gave a 45-minute workshop on jumping rope. About 40 people, mainly teenage gymnasts, attended it. We had fun teaching them several ways to jump rope in groups. Time passed by like a flash, while participants were actively involved in the activities regardless of ability level. It was a precious opportunity for my students to realize that they were able to communicate with participants even though they didn’t speak the same language.
At 21:30, our second performance started. Again, the venue was full. A lot of people came to us to say, “Your performance is not like the ones by other groups. It is really good and I feel like I am watching something amazing!” Those comments motivated us so much.
The audience enjoyed our team routine, jump-rope routine, and group performance. I’m relieved that we could end our performance on a high note.
The number of our shows is getting smaller day by day. We aspire to show our best performances until our final performance, as well as satisfy our audience.
